The transition from high school to college is a major step. We encourage you to get a jump-start on your college career and join other first-year freshmen in the Freshman Year Initiative (F.Y.I.) Program. Taught by Mesa State faculty, the F.Y.I. Program is designed to give students a better understanding of the skills needed to be successful in college including study skills, test-taking strategies, and time management techniques. In addition to expanding your knowledge, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with our campus and the many resources available to help you reach your academic and professional goals. Plus, you’ll be able to participate in activities throughout the week and start building friendships that may last a lifetime.

Are you a freshman football athlete? We offer a special F.Y.I Program designed to assist you in becoming a master student athlete. Your program is held Thursday, August 6th through Friday August 14th with classes held around your practice schedule.
