The transition from high school to college is a major step. We encourage you to get a jump-start on your college career and join other first-year freshmen in the F.Y.I. Program. Taught by Mesa State faculty, the F.Y.I. Program is designed to give students a better understanding of the skills needed to be successful in college including study skills, test-taking strategies, and time management techniques. In addition to expanding your knowledge, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with our campus and the many resources available to help you reach your academic and professional goals. Plus, you’ll be able to participate in activities throughout the week and start building friendships that may last a lifetime.

Costs are billed directly to your Mesa State College account
Tuition: Two credits of tuition
F.Y.I. will add 2 credits to your Fall class schedule. The Admissions Office will register you for your specific F.Y.I. class by the first week of August. Tuition will be assessed on your total Fall 2010 credit hours. Please contact the Business Office at 970.248.1567 for questions on your exact tuition rate.
Students Living on Campus for the F.Y.I. Program: $455.00
Early move-in is available for those students who have been assigned campus housing for the 2010-2011 academic year. Move-in begins no earlier than 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 15th, and students will move directly into the room assigned to them for the academic year. Students withdrawing from MSC after the start of the F.Y.I. Program will be liable for the cost of their 2010-2011 residence life contract. The above cost includes a program fee, textbook*, day planner, housing, and meals for the week of F.Y.I.
Commuter Students: $255.00
The above cost is for students who will not be living on campus during F.Y.I. The cost includes a program fee, textbook*, and day planner.
Commuter Student with Optional Lunch Plan: $291.50
Those students living off campus and commuting for F.Y.I. may purchase an optional lunch meal plan for Monday through Friday of the F.Y.I. Program. The above cost includes a program fee, textbook* , day planner, and five lunches.
*Your textbook is a special edition that will be provided at the program check-in. Do not purchase one in advance!
