May 2010 Commencement Ceremony

Stocker Stadium-Lincoln Park

Saturday, May 15 at 8:30 a.m. 

(Graduates need to arrive at 7:30 a.m.)

Rehearsal

Due to venue availability there will not be commencement practice before the ceremony. Please review the online rehearsal information and watch the appropriate video for ceremony instructions at your convenience.

Weather Conditions/Rain Plan

Grand Junction weather can change dramatically and the outdoor ceremony will take most of the morning. Please be aware of the forecast and come prepared for both the expected and unexpected. We suggest: a hat, sunscreen, bottled water, jacket, poncho or umbrella. In the event of heavy rain or snow, the ceremony may be moved indoors.

Ticket/Guest Limit

As long as the ceremony is held outside at Stocker Stadium-Lincoln Park there is no limit to the number of family and friends you invite to the ceremony. However, if the rain plan is implemented, there will be a limit of four guests per graduate due to the smaller facility in the Maverick Pavillion (formerly Saunders Fieldhouse). The four rain plan tickets for your guests will be mailed to you by the end of April 2009. 

Cap, Gown, and Announcements

Orders for caps, gowns and announcements may be done through Herff Jones online through March 31. After March 31, cap/gowns may be purchase during distribution in May with a $20 late fee (CASH ONLY). For ordering questions, contact Herff-Jones by e-mail or at 800.336.3141. For other questions related to cap, gowns, or announcements, contact the MSC Bookstore, 970.248.1422.

Note to Master's Graduates, hoods will be furnished by Mesa State College and presented to you at the ceremony.
