Engineering Scholarships

These scholarships are only available to students without a prior bachelor's degree, unless otherwise noted.

Brach, Louis and Betty Scholarship

Criteria:  Mesa State College full-time student in any major of studey with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Value: $500*

Burkey Family Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:  Mesa State College full-time senior student in any major of study with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Value:  $500*

Deadline:  March 1, 2010

Dixson, Bruce and Louise Scholarship

Criteria:  mesa State College full-time students who have a history of self-help and a GPA between 2.0 and 3.5. Athletes are not eligible for this scholarship.

Value: $500*

Grand Valley Power

Criteria: Applicants must reside in a home served by Grand Valley Power and either be enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Program or have al letter of acceptance from Mesa State College in the Mechanical Engineering Program.  Minimun 3.0 GPA.

Value: $1000*

Deadline: March 15, 2010

Hunter, Sara Frances and E. Ray Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:  Mesa State college full-time student whio is a resident of Mesa County,  Colorado.  Applicants must be majoring in Science, Education, Education, Engineering or Healthcare.  Preference will be given to students in a two-year associate degree with a GPA between 2.0 3.0.

Value:  $250*

Halliburton Scholarship

Criteria:  For students entering their second year in engineering during the Fall 2010 semester, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Student must submit a two-page essay on how the energy industry impacts his/her life.

Shideler, Joy and Alfred Scholarship

Criteria:  Full-time Mesa State Colelge students with a minimum 3.2 GPA and enrolled in any area of engineering or medical careers. Student must have financial need.

Value:  In-state tuition and fees, maximum of 12 credit hours per semester*

Society of Petroleum Engineers Scholarship

Criteria:  Must be a Mesa State student enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering program.  Suggested application minimum GPA of 3.0.  Must be a resident of one of the following counties:  Colorado counties:  Garfield, Mesa, Delta, Montrose, San Miguel, Ouray, Gunnison, Pitkin or Eagle.  Utah county - Grand.  Scholarship may be renewed every year as long as minimum requirements are met and students re-apply.

Ute Chapter of Professional Engineers of Colorado Scholarship

Criteria:  Mesa State College full-time student finishing their freshman year, enrolled in engineering, who is considering transferring to a four-year college or univerity to complete their Engineering education.  Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Preference given to a Western Slope resident.

Value:  $500*

Wagler, Mattie Smith Scholarship

Criteria:  Mesa State college full-time female student selected on the basis of need, scholarship ability and on seriousness of purpose and endeavor.  The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Value: $1000:

Wagler, S. N. Scholarship

Criteria:  Mesa State College full-time student with a minumum GPA of 2.5, enrolled in anyAssociate or Baccalaureate degree with otherwise might not have been able to secure a college education without encouragment and financial assistance.  The recipient is selected on the basis of need, scholarship ability and on seriousness of purpose and endeavor.

Value: $500*
