Room selection is entirely online via MyHousing. Current residents do not submit new housing applications or housing deposits. Please do not submit a new housing application if you are a current resident.

Using AOL Instant Messenger, you can contact Shannon Pitton by sending a message to the screenname MSCRoomSelect for online chat help. Please include your Name, Student ID and the fact that you are a Current Resident. The online chat will primarily be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, however online chat is available outside of those hours on occassion so please add MSCRoomSelect as one of your buddies and you will always know when the chat is available.

Room Selection Overview:

• Room selection for returning residents is entirely online via MyHousing and starts mid-March.
• Returning residents have priority over incoming students through the end of March.
• Room selection and changes will continue through the end of June but includes incoming students.
• If you miss your room selection process (aka - lottery), you lose your priority but will still be permitted to select in the next lottery.
• It is in your best interest to participate in the earliest lottery for which you are eligible.
• Once you participate in a lottery, your bed is locked in and cannot be changed until the room changes lottery (which is after all returners have selected).

Prioritized Room Selection Lotteries:

• Same Room Selection Lottery
  • Claim your current bed
    
• Same Suite/Apartment Selection Lottery
  • Claim a bed in your current suite or apartment
• Displaced Students Selection Lottery- students who cannot claim their current bed
  • Residents in ADA rooms who do not have an ADA requirement
  • Residents in RA suites
  • Residents in rooms that will not be available for the coming year
• 30+ Credit Hours Selection Lottery
  • Residents with 30+ credit hours completed at the time of selection, not counting current semester
• 0-29 Credit Hours Selection Lottery
  • Remaining returning residents
• Room Change Lottery
  • Early April, there will be a room change period after returning student selection before incoming students can select. Mid-May, after new students have also chosen, students can again participate in room changes.
