WebCT logins and email

Mesa State College faculty must request a login and password for WebCT. Faculty should contact the office of the Coordinator of Distance Education at 970.248.1379 for login information.

Students at Mesa State College that are enrolled in an online course can access their online course through MAVzone.


Once you have a Mesa State Username (same as your email name), follow these steps to access your email and WebCT courses. Your online class will be available at 7:00 AM (MST) on the first day the class is scheduled to begin (see Start Date in the course catalog).

Please be aware that Mesa State recommends students use the Firefox browser (from Mozilla.com) to access WebCT, due to issues with Internet Explorer.


1. Go to the Mesa State College home page.


2. Click the link for MAVzone.


3. Enter your Mesa State Username.

4. Enter your password. The first time you login to MAVzone, your initial password will be your birthday in mmddyy format. For example, someone born on January 1, 1980 will have an initial password of 010180.

5. If prompted, enter a new password. Your password must be a minimum of 8 characters. It must contain at least one alphabetic character and one number.

6. You should now be logged into MAVzone, the Mesa State College web portal. Click on the WebCT icon in the upper right portion of the window. Be sure all pop-up blockers are turned off before accessing WebCT.

7. A new browser window will open for WebCT. Your class name should be listed on this page, under Course List. Click on your class to begin. NOTE: If you should receive a message about the site's "Digital signature," click the checlbox that says "Always trust..." and click the Run button.

An Online Student Tutorial is also provided to new students in WebCT. Use this tutorial to become familiar with the common tools used by instructors in WebCT.

Important: Mesa State College provides an e-mail account to all students and correspondence will be directed to this account. Please be sure to check it regularly for important correspondence.
