Basic Registration Steps Girls at Computer

Once you register for courses, you are academically and financially responsible for your courses, whether or not you attend courses.  You can drop all you courses prior to the first day of the semester without penalty.  Once courses start, there are published deadlines to add, drop, or withdraw from class with varying refund rates and grade options.

 



Current Sudent Registration Checklist

  • Research what courses are needed for your degree
  • Meet with your advisor
    • If you have not yet declared a major, use the Advising and Career Center.  If you declared a major and not yet been assigned a faculty advisor, please visit the academic department for your program.
  • Plan your schedule
  • Take care of any registration holds
  • Use your USERNAME and PASSWORD to log into your account and register for classes through MAVzone
  • Print your schedule for accuracy
  • Pay your bill

Returning Student Registration Checklist

  • Fll out the Returning Student Application and mail/fax/deliver it back to the Registrar's Office. 
  • Research what courses are needed for your degree

10 Steps to Your Successful Start at Mesa State College

  1. APPLY in-person or online at
    • Submit $30 application processing fee;
    • Send all official transcripts including high school and nay prior college;
    • ACT/SAT scores if student has earned less than 30 semester credit hours.
  2. APPLY for on-campus housing, if applicable.
  3. APPLY for financial aid online at the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) Web site, www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
  4. APPLY for your College Opportunity Fund voucher (in-state students only).
  5. STUDENTS with no or low ACT/SAT scores, sign up for the ACCUPLACER for Math and English.  Contact the Testing Center at 970-255-2750.
  6. NEW STUDENTS must attend a student orientation program.  Call 970-248-1875 or 800-982-MESA to register.  You will register for classes through the orientation program.
  7. PAY for tuition and purchase your text books prior to the first day of class.
  8. FIND your classrooms before classes start
  9. ATTEND Welcome Week events.  For details call 970-248-1758.
  10. GET INVOLVED!  Work with your instructors as needed.  Utilize services such as tutoring, career planning, and advising.  Join clubs, organizations, and study groups.  Take charge of your own success!
