Theatre Performances

One of the trademarks of the Mesa State College Department of Theatre is our commitment to offering seasons of entertainment with a little something for everyone. This season is no exception! Our mainstage season offers two mega-musicals both making their regional debuts on the Robinson stage, a riotous trip through Victorian England, and a first for us--the world premiere of children's theatre works penned by Mesa State students themselves. Additionally, we continue to offer two spectacular Mesa Repertory Dance Concerts featuring original choreography by faculty, students, and nationally renowned guest artists. Our Mesa Experimental Theatre season rounds out the schedule by showcasing four challenging plays produced and directed entirely by our undergraduates.

We're sure you've noticed our new space on the southeast corner of the Moss Center. We are delighted to be moving into this $3 million expansion, which includes a scenic shop annex, a new costume shop/classroom, and a beautiful new dance studio on the third floor (which we feel will become one of the College's signature architectural landmarks). The expansion will dramatically reduce the strain on the Robinson Theatre, thus allowing longer runs for Theatre productions (which you've been requesting for years) and a more diverse calendar for Music concerts.

On that note, we're thrilled to announce that beginning this year both of our musicals (THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and THE PRODUCERS) will run for two weeks. We're also expanding the Play With Your Food! dinner theatre series to include dates during each week of the musical runs as well as during the straight plays.

On behalf of the students, staff, and faculty of the Mesa State College Department of Theatre, we thank you for your generous support of our programs. We simply could not be as successful as we've been, grown as much as we have, or enjoyed the journey quite so well without our beloved patrons and donors. Our hats are off to you! Now, without any further adieu, on with the show!
