A joint production with the Music Department, THE MAGIC FLUTE marks a milestone as the first large scale opera ever produced and staged at Mesa State. Sarastro, a noble and wise spiritual leader has taken his daughter Pamina into his temple for the purpose of releasing her form the influence of her mother, the Queen of the Night. The Queen induces the young Prince Tamino to go in search of her daughter free her from the power of Sarastro; Tamino, given a portrait of Pamina, instantly falls in love, and the quest to be united ensues.
