Distance Learning
If you cannot come to to any of our campuses for tutoring, and would like to work with a tutor by phone during the hours of the main campus, please call our Distance Tutoring line at 970 248-1021.

You will make the most of your tutoring session if you:

  • Bring your assignment;
  • Start the assignment (try to do it first);
  • Prepare questions to ask the tutor;
  • Be ready to tell the tutor one main thing you would like help with;
  • Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to try.

What not to expect:

Our tutors are instructed to help you become more independent in your learning. They are NOT permitted to DO any of your work FOR YOU. This includes correcting your work, suggesting words to use in your paper, doing your assignment or teaching you the content after your absence from class.

What tutors will do:

Tutors will:

  • Offer study tips;
  • Offer encouragement;
  • Give feedback on student assignments;
  • Review concepts, types of problems, and rules;
  • Help students follow an instructor's directions;
  • Help students use their textbooks, syllabi and materials more effectively;
  • Introduce students to myriad self-help and campus resources available to them;
  • Reinforce what students already know and understand.

Tutorial Services is always looking for stellar students to be peer tutors. If you like helping other students succeed in their classes, you are welcome to apply to be a tutor.
