Computer Aided Design

CAd Student Students begin working with two-dimensional designs and advance to three-dimensional designs, including solid-based and parametric modeling with animation. Students learn drafting concepts and the processes of orthographic projection, pictorial drawing, dimensioning, and geometric construction by hand and with computer-aided design (CAD) software and equipment. Students will gain fundamental knowledge of mechanical, civil, and architectural drafting.

The majority of the student's work will be completed on the computer. A project in the area of the student's interest will tie the course to real world concepts.
