Students in the Practical Nurse (P.N.) program learn to provide routine patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or a physician. Students practice in a specialized Auto-Tutorial Lab (ATL) classroom. Upon successful completion of the program, students must test and pass the Licensed Practical Nursing certification exam offered by the Colorado State Board of Nursing (NCLEX). Students in the Registered Nurse (R.N.) program learn role transition, advanced concepts of medical-surgical nursing, nursing care of psychiatric clients, care of OB and pediatric patients as well as leadership skills of professional nursing practice. Students complete a comprehensive nursing internship. This program is for licensed practical nurses who wish to continue their education by pursuing the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing (R.N.). Upon successful completion of the program, students must test and pass he Registered Nursing certification exam offered by the Colorado State Board of Nursing (NCLEX). |
